Gunite (Concrete)
Although, concrete pools are the most expensive pool solution they offer the most aesthetic options and last the longest.
Pros: Concrete pools can incorporate all sorts of natural elements from tile to stone to boulders. Sizes are not limited
Concrete pools can last over 30 years. When installed correctly, they will only need minor re-facing even after that period of time.
Cons: The most expensive option, concrete pools can cost up to twice the amount of a similarly sized vinyl pool.
Vinyl
Vinyl pools have steel panels and polymer or plastic lined walls. While vinyl does not degrade, the steel panels can rust and corrode, making the pool structurally unstable.
Pros: Vinyl pools are half the price of a concrete pool of similar size. Vinyl pools can take any shape, allowing for flexible design.
Cons: Steel panels can corrode. You are not able to incorporate any natural elements into the interior of the pool. For
example, you cannot have natural stone bands or boulders in the pool.
Fiberglass
Fiberglass pools are the way to go if you need your pool built QUICKLY! Because the entire pool will be delivered, intact, via truck, the maximum overall size will be 16′ X 40′. If you have a small yard and/or a small budget, this can be a great solution!
Pros: Fiberglass pools can be installed quickly.
Cons: Fiberglass pool sizes are limited, as are the shape options. Cannot be customized.
